Kiwi are shy and usually nocturnal. Their mostly nocturnal habits may be a result of habitat intrusion by predators including humans. Kiwis are creatures with a highly developed sense of smell and, most unusual in a bird, nostrils at the end of their long bill.

Chosen for an illustration assignment consisting of rendering a bird in ink for a fictional encyclopedia. Everyone else chose a magestic, tropical bird with ornate details and exotic names. I chose a kiwi. Short, fat, and has a big beak. Kinda like me.
I lost marks because the teacher felt I should continue the stick into the bottom. However the assignment sheet says 1 inch border and the stick already breaks it by a little.
Done in ink with a 01 tech pen. Pigment liner if you've never had a prepress class.
